Morning StartsRapids Camp Matching Funds Challenge to Protect Bristol Bay

I’ve known Jerry Shults for several years.  The first time I met Jerry in person was at the Newark, NJ airport in the winter of 2007.  We were both headed to the Fly Fishing Show in Somerset.  He found out that I was just beginning to attend these events around the country to raise awareness about a potential threat to the world’s most productive wild salmon fishery (and the trout fishing’s not bad either!).

Right away, he offered to give me a ride in his rental car to the show.  Ever since that day, I’ve counted Jerry as a friend.  We cross paths a time or two at events each year, and I’ve had the good fortune to spend a bit of time at Rapids Camp Lodge – a beautiful place with tremendous service, we can all agree.  The campaign to protect Bristol Bay is in a critical phase right now, and the next year is going to be incredibly important if we are to secure protections for the region, the fish, the wildlife, the people, and the jobs that depend on Bristol Bay’s productivity.  Jerry has very generously offered to partner with the campaign on a fundraising promotion – and we are hopeful you will be interested.  Rapids Camp Lodge will match 50% of all funds raised by the Sportsman’s Alliance for Alaska to fight for Bristol Bay, up to a maximum contribution by Jerry of $5,000!  So, if we can combine to raise $10,000 then we’ll have Jerry’s contribution maxed out.  That doesn’t seem too daunting…if just 50 people gave just $200, that would do it.  So, please consider making a donation today by visiting this page <http://www.sportsmansalliance4ak.org/matching-funds-challenge.html>  for all the promotion details.   Thanks for your consideration of this request.  We can win this fight, but it’s going to take effort and resources.  Your support is greatly appreciated.
