Brooks Falls Bear Viewing

Bear viewing throughout all of Katmai National Park and the surrounding areas is famous worldwide, but undoubtedly the premier place in the world to view bears at close range is Brooks Falls. If you have seen a photograph of a bear fishing for salmon at a waterfall, it was most likely taken at Brooks Falls.

In recent years over 100 bears have vested the 1.5-mile Brooks River annually during the peak of the Sockeye Salmon run. In addition, Brooks River is not only known for bear viewing, but also for some of the best Rainbow Trout fishing in Bristol Bay Alaska. Brooks Camp is just a quick 15-minute floatplane flight from the lodge.
